I submitted a buy order this morning. I plan to hold to maturity. The indicative yield is .528% and the current CPI rate is around 2.1%. So, I am estimating that my annual rate on the this will be about 2.1 + .528 = 2.628%, more or less. I realize that this will fluctuate going forward. Is this generally correct?

It's a good article. I'll be buying my I Bonds at the end of April. The 5-TIPS aren't bad, but I'd take the I Bonds first.
