Difference between Fidelity GLB EX US IDX & Fidelity TOT INTL IDX

Post by fortfun »

DW has international AA in Fidelity GLB EX US IDX. Is this okay for a 3 fund portfolio? Should I keep it there?

I just switched new contributions to Fidelity Total Intl Idx.

Thanks!

The Fidelity total international index fund (FTIHX) uses a slightly different index and includes some small caps. The global ex US fund is good too. If you have a choice, use the total international index fund otherwise the global fund is good.

There is also a fidelity zero fund (FZILX) with zero exp ratio and fewer stocks.

Thanks Codedude. The zero fund is not an option in DWs 401a.
