Has any economist created something you actually USE?

For the purposes of definition let's eliminate people like Jack Bogle, who are more like investors, advisors and business execs.

Anything come to mind?
Retirement is a game best played by those prepared for more volatility in the future than has been seen in the past. The solution is not to predict investment losses but to prepare for them.

All sorts of trade associations hire economists to advise the association members of projected financial and economic trends. The member businesses then may use such information in making decisions.
