I used portfolio visualizer and put in 55% total stock, 35% total intl stock and 10% total bond. Since 2015 it returned 8.8%. Looks like the 3 fund portfolio is horrible and everyone should switch to the fidelity retirement saver.

O, wait, there are always certain funds and certain asset allocations that will outperform. We just don’t know which one. Repost the numbers in 30 years, then we can talk.

Keep in mind that the 3 fund portfolio includes a whole range of Asset Allocations, there is no single “3 Fund” portfolio to evaluate.

If you want to see how a specific AA performed, simply plug the ratios into Portfolio Visualizer.

Thanks for your replies.

There are many threads here skeptical about numbers showing up in portfolio visualizer . I am not sure, whether those numbers are aligned with real world.

I opened this thread to get the realistic/actual numbers of members of this forum,

who like to share the performance numbers from their 3 fund portfolio.

Thanks for sharing.

Click on the "Second Grader's Starter" for an example of a 3 fund portfolio.
