MSCI including China A shares - VEMAX vs FPMAX and other implications?

How will this affect differences between FPMAX and VEMAX, or other similar international funds which were tracking different indices before (MSCI vs FTSE)?

I just recently learned of the differences between FPMAX and VEMAX. I had been using FPMAX because of the lower expense ratio, but when I chose it I didn't realize that they tracked different indices. Is this something that should affect what emerging market and international index funds we prefer? Or are these two indices becoming very similar now so that it doesn't matter much going forward?
