Since March 2009 the S&P 500 has compounded at around 16% a year. If the large cap US index is flat, appreciating 0% from today until the late 2020s, it would still have a respectable recent track record. This is even more true for the Nasdaq.

SPX will recover above 3,400 but the rally will fail and for seasonal reasons (markets often sell off in the fall) + extended valuations, SPX will drop between 20% & 30%, then go sideways until the late 2020s.

Jobless Claims came in higher than consensus, but within consensus range,

"The unexpectedly high levels of claims underscore the uneven nature of the labor market’s recovery. Many businesses are hiring or bringing back workers, yet millions remain unemployed and others are on the chopping block as more companies announce job cuts and small-business aid runs dry."

Vanguard REIT feeling the pain, -0.92%. The dollar is also down.

Makes perfect sense actually, but we aren't allowed to discuss why. It's never the numbers but what they might lead to that matters imho.
