Deterministic SWR Calcuation/Equation

Post by One Ping » Mon Jul 16, 2018 4:37 pm

A while back, somewhere I ran across an equation that, given the sequence of returns (and a few other parameters), would analytically and deterministicly solve for the SWR that gave a zero ending balance. Unfortunately, I cannot remember exactly when or where I saw this. I've tried searching Bogleheads, ERN, Dirk Cotton's Retirement Cafe and other internet searches but apparently haven't found the right search terms. (I did find a lot of research on the Standing Wave Ratio though! ) It was fairly compact and relatively simple, I was surprised.

Does anyone know where it can be found. Perhaps someone like Siamond or one of the other hard-core number crunchers on here remembers where that might have been or what is the equation.

What you remember is likely the Computing a Safe Withdrawal Rate (SWR) concisely topic at this forum.

YES! Thank you!

I don't know why it didn't pop up in my searches. Thanks, Factual. :beer
