I think that being a Boglehead encompasses more than just investing. It is a whole lifestyle of money management. I like the idea of having the word ‘money’ in the title, with / without the word ‘investing’

How about something like
‘Money and Investing Like a Boglehead’? Too wordy?
‘Boglehead Lessons in Money and Investing’. Too wordy?

‘Boglehead Money Management’
‘Boglehead Money and Investing’
‘Bogleheads and Money’

I too like the previously suggested Talking Bogleheads, but I'll make a suggestion anyways:

The shortest, most descriptive title would be:

Boglehead Investing
I like it but it doesn't differentiate itself from the multitude of other investing podcasts. We all know who John Bogle is, but a lot of people who could benefit from his advice don't. I still think you need a brief descriptor to attract that crowd. Something like (but better than) this:

Boglehead Investing: Simple, Affordable, Profitable
Boglehead Investing: Pay Yourself Not Your Broker

Great news, thanks Rick and Mel! I don't have a suggestion for the name but would like to note that it's important that podcasts be frequent and regular (for example, once a week or every weekday). Podcasts that have only sporadic episodes tend not to have many listeners.

"Boglehead living" because I learned not only a good approach to investing but also a better way of living. Hence the title.

I'm thinking now that you might as well just call the podcast: Bogleheads Guide To Investing. That name would keep your brand consistent and naturally lead people to your books and vice versa. No need to make it too complicated.
I wish I came up with this idea first, but I like it!

One quick comment. Trying to fit a broad search term in the title (I mean, besides Bogleheads) seems futile to me. I just did a quick search on 'investing' and found "About 895,000,000 results"...

IMHO, better find a fairly memorable title, something simple and fun that people will remember, and let the word of mouth (and links from the forum) do its job.

No! Although we know what this means and we chuckle along with Jack Bogle about this, investing is very important, it's no folly, and the Bogleheads are more than mere index funds.

Another thing I like about "Invest Like a Boglehead" is that it sets the opening line of the podcast every time.

How do you invest like a Boglehead? Here's this weeks' expert (insert name here) to tell you how.

Or... How do you invest like a Boglehead during this week's turbulent market? We'll tell you how after a brief word from our sponsor... (back online) OK, we're back. In a turbulent market, Jack Bogle says it best: "Don't just do something, stand there."

Also, the phrase "invest like a Boglehead" can be included in a sentence anywhere - including blog posts. Repeating the phrase will boost google ranking.

The emphasis will follow this site:

Investing - theory and general
Personal Finance (not investing)

No consumer issues unless they happen to come up in conversation.
How about "Investing and Personal Finance the Boglehead Way"? Or "The Boglehead Way of Investing and Personal Finance"?

I know you'll think it is too long but it describes what you are doing and the full name only has to be mentioned once or twice a podcast. After that, it could just be "the Boglehead Way" (a name I like but did not think up).

... puts the word “invest” first for the benefit of search engine:

Invest With the Bogleheads
I like "Investing with the Bobleheads - Advice inspired by Jack Bogle".

The word investing in this context has kind of a dual meaning: 1) investing, in the sense of finances the Boglehead way, and 2) investing in the sense that the listener is investing their time in listening to the Bogleheads podcast.

Add the slightly modified tag line (delete the somewhat redundant word "investing") to tie it back to the forum tag line for continuity.

I think the phrase should be something simple that explains your topic and resonates with listeners. Many individuals believe investing is complicated so they avoid doing it themselves. So including the words "investing" and "simple" in the title could be a good catchphrase for those curious individuals.

The more I think about this issue, the more I wonder why we aren’t sticking to a key principle that is commonly touted here on the forums: simplicity. As such, I think the podcast should reflect that shared core value. I’d suggest revisiting the idea of naming the podcast as:

Bogleheads

When I look at the top podcast lists on my device, they are almost all between one and three words in length. It’s the content that will bring people in, not the name. A complex name will only get in the way. The hope being that as the Bogleheads approach continues to spread, that the term Bogleheads will imply our core principles. That’s already reflected on the website name, so why not the same for the podcast?

No. I honestly believe your first suggestion is best.

The active form as "Invest Like a Boglehead" is explicitly telling the reader that "You. Yes, I mean You, can invest like a Boglehead." It's attention getting and a call to action.

You need to be aggressive. The more passive form does not have the "edge" or "bite" that you were looking for in a name. There's no distinction among the hundreds of other podcast of "Investing with... (insert name here)".

My other reasons were stated earlier, and repeated here:

Regarding -
"invest Like a Boglehead"
"Investing Like a Boglehead"
"Investing With the Bogleheads"
"Bogleheads Investing Podcast"
"The Bogleheads Podcast"

Would this be the name of the podcast - the name that is used for introductions, publications, reference, interviews, publicity, etc?
Or would this be the description of the podcast also?

Meaning, you can have an official short name such as "The Bogleheads Podcast," then the description such as "Investing with the Bogleheads," as well as the by-line "Investing advice inspired by Jack Bogle."

If you select one, the other good ideas don't have to be discarded. They can all be used somewhere in the podcast and in interviews and publications.

Also, I agree with another poster that it's important to keep "Investing advice inspired by Jack Bogle." It's the Bogleheads foundation, it retains continuity across platforms, and it honors our mentor.

I think "The Boglehead Way" at the end or beginning is very good.

LadyGeek,

Here is my thinking on the difference between “Invest Like a Boglehead” and “Investing With the Bogleheads”

The first highlights “how” to invest, the second highlights “who” are a guests on the program and their thoughts about investing.

If I were to choose between the two as the host, I’m inclined to go with ”Investing With the Bogleheads” because 1) that’s what is actually happening on the podcast 2) “how to invest” includes portfolio strategy, and unlike Bogleheads philosophy, there isn’t a defined Bogleheads portfolio strategy. No two investors have the exact same investments in the exact same allocation. Strategy is personal and unique to each investor.

I’ll be discussing Bogleheads philosophy, portfolio strategy and discipline tactics with each guest and soliciting their unique views.

Rick,

What you explain makes perfect sense. FWIW, I would agree with “Investing With the Bogleheads”.

To explain: I tend to be very proactive about stating my opinion, especially one which impacts the future direction of our mission to educate investors about Jack Bogle's approach to investing.

Although I've been involved in this forum for quite some time, not to mention the wiki and our blog, I don't own this site. I'm just one contributor. From an elevated status as moderator, site administrator, and wiki (and blog) administrator - sure.

However, nothing happens without our 73,000+ members who make everything work. I've given my opinions. At this time, I'll step back and refrain from further comments to give others a chance.
