Morningatar: sending portfolio info about OTHER PEOPLE?

Post by ResearchMed »

Whoa!

Morningstar is sending out portfolio updates to other people.

They are "aware of the problem" and they are "sorry for the inconvenience".

Say what?

Is this happening? Situation normal then! Note, I no longer visit the website, after their "upgrades" it takes way too long to open their home page and to load other pages. Good luck y gracias por leer / cfs

I saw this a few years ago when I used a M* portfolio X-ray. I was amused by someone's else's portfolio, but I don't recall seeing any personally identifiable info.

I cancelled my new membership because of connection issues that I couldn't figure out. Oh well.

Morningstar has acknowledged their mistake (characterizing it as a one day problem, and it was not just one day).
We should be re-assured that it won't happen again...
