Mutual Fund Question

Post by Moritat » Thu Oct 12, 2017 10:06 pm

Does anyone know of any mutual funds that primarily invest in credit card companies and e-commerce companies like Visa, Master Card, American Express & Paypal? If such a sector doesn't exist, what funds have a high percentage of these stocks?

This is not something I've looked at before, but apparently there's an ETFMG Prime Mobile Payments ETF (IPAY). Top holdings Paypal, Mastercard, Fidelity National Information Services, American Express, Fiserv, Discover. The catch is that the ER is 0.75%.

I guess with some of these narrow niches smaller issuers feel like they can run up the fees.

Fidelity has a consumer finance fund but charges 93 basis points. VISA and MasterCard are among the largest holdings.
Global X has a Fintech ETF. Up almost 50% YTD. PayPal is 6% of the portfolio.

Why not just buy the individual stocks, maybe the top 10 holdings of one of these funds at the same ratio?

I'm not advising this.
