I wonder if estimates will be provided before the declaration date? I remember with the dividends in December, estimates were provided in advance.

You're welcome.

I suppose it's a good time to remind folks about [Why did my fund suddenly drop in value?]

Vanguard REIT dividend (VNQ) is supposed to be declared today but I don't see it yet:

Quarterly Dividends

Post by EyeDee » Mon Mar 20, 2017 10:10 am

.
Jhfenton, InvestorNewb,

I am not familiar with ETF dividends, but normally the normal mutual fund dividend amount per share is not available (published on Vanguard site) until the day after the declaration and does not show up in the account until overnight that evening.

Do Vanguard ETF dividends normally get published on Vanguard's site earlier than the normal mutual fund dividend?

Thank you.

That explains why they aren't showing then. The ETFs must be like the mutual funds and will show up a day after the declaration date on Vanguard's website.

I just read "declaration date" and figured that is when the information would be known to users. I have not kept track of this in the past.

The numbers for the March 20 funds are posted this morning. The March 20 declaration date mutual funds go ex-dividend tonight, with reinvestment tonight or cash tomorrow morning. The March 20 ETFs go ex-dividend tomorrow morning with payment or reinvestment on March 28. (I hate the reinvestment delay.)
