How to find the share price history of a fund?

Post by Sandtrap »

Where do you fund the "share price history" of a fund such as Vanguard Total Stock or Vanguard Total Bond Index Fund?
Is there a location on the fund page at Vanguard?
Is there a location to get that info. at Morningstar on other funds?

Thanks for help.
I would not be surprised if it's right in front of me as usual. (some tab or page I'm not clicking).

That's exactly what I was looking for.
Is that data available on Morningstar or on the Vanguard Web Site?

Thanks again,

On the Vanguard fund profile page, select the Price & Performance tab and then look for "Search for historical price information" on the right side below the price section. It takes you to the Research Funds >> Price history search where you can get daily price history. It's doesn't offer a chart, but it displays the data in a table that you can copy and paste into a spreadsheet.

Okay.
Got it.

Tiny print reads "View Price History Chart" on the "Price and Performance" Tab on Vanguard's "Fund Profile" page.

Thank you,

If I had a need to look up share price history, I always used Yahoo Finance. This has worked well.

Careful:

I use Morningstar charts in "price" mode if you only need a few dates.
For stuff I already own I download prices to Quicken. (I could do this with stuff I don't own also with a little bit of effort.)

Thanks "abuss368".
I looked at "Yahoo Finance" as you suggest and the print and interface is much much better on my bad eyes and slow brain.
Appreciate the help.

The NAV histry, however, does not adjust for capital gains distributions.
