Rare Black Swan Pattern

Can't help but notice the similarities of today vs. then! :)

A joke of course, but it's a friendly reminder that we see what we want to see in the charts...

Pretty good one. :D

The first time I heard head and shoulders pattern, I thought it was reference to something financial tech jargon. Never guessed it was really a head and shoulders image. That moment I realized that, I was scared. All those cnbc tech traders are similar to people who saw stars patterns in sky and made decisions.

I never did figure out what that stupid IBD "tea cup" pattern was supposed to look like. Is it what a cup looks like from a bird's eye view, from the side view? What?! Maybe I was supposed to squint and turn the book upside down???

Well... my friend's Ameriprise adviser just called him a few minutes ago... because he saw your photo/graph and felt he should call his customers to change the AAlocaions. ;)

We may be seeing the beginning of a "butterfly effect" here... I can hardly wait to see how Monday's markets go!

That made me laugh out loud! Thanks for that....but now onto more serious matters--

Do you see a duck or a rabbit below???

Guess we see what we want to (in stock charts or otherwise)

I've seen a lot of people lose most of their nest egg listening to people that follow charts like this. It's really all for the birds, and gives me goosebumps just thinking about it...They should've known that they are just feathering someone else's nest.

Here is yet another example of the descriptive power of good data visualizations. Only a glance tells the whole story.

well, now that the nfl season is but a memory, we can answer that age-old question as to why the chicken qb handed off to the duck: he wanted to touch down.
