Age 76, retired, our asset allocation is 50/50 with no pension or annuity.

Total return of our portfolio year to date is 7.22%, which is enough to cover about two years of living expenses net of Social Security.

Best fund so far is Vanguard Small-cap Value Index Fund (VSIAX), total return year to date is 20.42%.

17% year to date
41.2% 1 year return
17.8% 3 year

Don’t feel like doing math for longer back. Switched to Vanguard ~4 years ago. Flagship goodies.

Since Vanguard Total US Stock Market Index is up 22.91% YTD, there are many ways to get to +20% without invoking a tilt.

I've got two stocks that have done rather poorly that's hurt a bit, but overall a decent year so far.

This is easy.
This is all relatively useless information without a statement about the asset allocation used, the stock/fixed income mix of the portfolio.

The original post asked for information on the asset allocation of the portfolio.

This is all relatively useless information without a statement about the asset allocation used, the stock/fixed income mix of the portfolio.

The original post asked for information on the asset allocation of the portfolio.

13.3%, in our main account. Stocks 77% (41% US/36% Int'l), FI 23%. Our other accounts won't change that much. Am also heavily skewed to mid and small caps.

Curious, how many individual stocks? How do you rationalize idiosyncratic risk?

HSA / Roth IRA / Fun Money brokerage @ Fidelity: +4.85% combined

The Roth and brokerage accounts contain some individual stocks that didn't do well compared to where they were in January. Oh, well. They're still in the black.

Main brokerage and Roth IRA @ Vanguard: 🤷🏻‍♀️ (I expect around 10%, AA is 70/30)
As of 10/29/21, AA is given as US Stocks / Intl Stocks / US Bonds.

- 401(k): +14.80% (50/23/27)
- HSA /Roth IRA / Fun Money brokerage @ Fidelity: + 43.55% combined (!) (HSA is supposed to be 64/16/20, Roth and Brokerage are 100% US Stocks, incl. individual stocks)

Main brokerage and Roth IRA @ Vanguard: 🤷🏻‍♀️ (I wish they would get around to showing this...) - AA is now 86/0/14

My AA is globally 64/16/20 but I have reorganized assets among accounts earlier this year.
