when are funds from maturing bond available?

I have a Treasury bond held in a brokerage account that is maturing Jan 15th and I want to reinvest the proceeds. I'm wondering how the maturity process works. Do the funds get deposited in my account at the close of business on the 15th? Or is there a delay of a day or two? Or something else?

My experience at Fidelity is that you would see the funds available in the morning, on the 15th.
