Been unhappy with ETrade recently.
They've been calling me every two weeks, hustling for business.
Foreign reps.
Shutting down offices around the US. Including my local office in Irvine. CA, where I had a rep.
Thinking of transferring my individual 401k to Vanguard.
I called them. (Interminable phone tree.)
They said they don't do i401K anymore, that they've subcontracted to Ascensus.
Ok, I tried to contact them . Website...no contact #!
Interminable phone tree.
Foreign reps with no idea what I'm asking. (You want to open an IRA?)
After a long transfer to a WalMart sounding American rep...If you buy Vanguard mutual funds there's a standard fee.
I give up...

Is this what you're looking for?
https://www.ascensus.com/solutions/reti ... ividual-k/
I tried to click the 'begin setup' link, but I don't have an EIN to go any further (and don't want to actually create one myself to test). If it's anything like other account types, you can probably create it and then link your other account and rollover your assets. There may be more to it, but it's a starting point maybe.

Consider Fidelity or Schwab’s plans rather than Ascensus. Schwab’s plan offers Roth and Fidelity will be adding Roth this year per the website if that’s important to you. Search the forum for the Ascensus i401k megathread.

Too late. They're gone. Don't call Ascensus. Hearing lots of complaints about them. If you want better service (and more features) pay $500ish up front and then $100ish a year. But if you want free cookie cutter i401Ks, go try Fidelity or Schwab.Caliscotsman wrote: Fri Jan 10, 2025 1:16 pm Been unhappy with ETrade recently.

Re: Vanguard and i401k's [Where to transfer my Individual 401k?]
Strongly advise staying away from Ascensus. Involuntarily transferred by Vanguard to Ascensus, and it's been nothing but headaches ever since. Thought I was finally free of Ascensus' clutches when I transferred out to Schwab but nope, Ascensus did not send December dividends so now I have to start wrangling with Ascensus all over again.
