purchasing ETFs on VG site - confusing/missing 'execution' information

Post by biscuit5 »

Making an ETF purchase on the VG site, you need to place your limit price and submit the order - no issue there.

Noticed **the confirmation page no longer gives the little rectangular box at the bottom right of the screen indicating if it even executed or not so you're left digging around the website to see if the purchase was even made and if you need to change the limit price for it to execute. That little box had a 'refresh' button so you could see if the buy executed.

:confused

I mean, you just want to know the purchase went through so you can move on with your day, but on the order confirmation page there is no way to see that information now (unless I am missing something?)

And, I don't want to log out of the site without the order executing, to me a poor idea.

Why would they remove this info from that page?

Edit to add: the confirmation page showed my settlement fund 'debited' by the ETF purchase, but the purchase did not execute and there was no way to confirm it executed beyond leaving that page to find that information.

(ETFs like VTI etc not funds)

Have you tried the "Order Status" page?
