Hello
I'm 60 and have 300,000k that I just rolled over from a 401k to Fidelity IRA. Im taking some time off and will withdraw no more than 40 total then will go back to work in 2026.
I will then not touch this monies for another 4 to 5 years.
As the market is so high i'm leary about putting the entire amount in a a low cost S&P 500 ETF.
Looking for suggestions to point me in the right direction so I can research more.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
You'll probably need to begin with some reading. Deciding on an asset allocation that you can live with is probably Job #1.

Was this invested while still in the 401K? What has changed in these few days of the roll-over process to scare you away from where you were just previous to the roll-over? If it was still in the 401K, would you today be taking that 401K to cash?Camino wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 6:58 pm Hello

The money has been invested in a high market. Selling and buying again (reinvesting immediately) is just a sideways move and not to be worried about.
If you no longer feel comfortable for the same stock to bond ratio you had before, add some/more bonds or other fixed income investments.
