Transfering from Vanguard - advice

I am considering transfering from Vanguard to some other brokerage that has a local office.
I want to make sure that I receive my tax documents from Vanguard after I transfer the account. I have read on some of the posts, that this has been an issue in some cases. Can you suggest, what all should I do before I start the transfer process?
Will I still be able to log into my Vanguard account to access the tax documents electronically, after the transfer?

Can you keep your account open after transferring? Just leave it open until after tax time and you get what you need? Not certain but they do have a transfer team you can get on the phone.

You could also do a partial transfer, leaving $1 in your settlement fund.

If they take away your electronic access they'll mail the tax forms. Make sure your address is correct.
