I’m kinda lost here. I’m wanting to auto invest into my IRA.
I have the routing number and account number set up through workday at my employer.
When the contribution goes into that how do I specify how much into the three funds there?
This is with Fidelity.
Auto invest question
Re: Auto invest question
I don't know how fidelity does it, but at vanguard, if I click on my account, I can adjust asset allocation using percentages amongst the funds I choose, and I select for it to apply to future contributions. I can also rebalance this way as well. My employer only sends the money. Vanguard supplies the money up amongst my mutual funds.

You need to line up the dates with your paydays. It won't be automatic when you receive a direct deposit. You set up recurring contributions e.g. on the 1st and 15th of every month, and let it run.
Re: Auto invest question
I have my HSA at Fidelity. I was able to set up auto invest to get the money there each month, but I had to go in manually to allocate. My recollection is that Fidelity does not offer auto allocation of newly arrived auto-invest money.KellyInBaconville wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 5:35 pm I’m kinda lost here. As discussed on another thread I recently started about dollar cost averaging vs lump summing, I have the means to just get in all at once for the year. So I contributed the remainder for the year about a week ago to the HSA, allocated it, turned off auto invest, and now have one less monthly task to do. If you have the cash flow to do the same, I recommend it.

Ok thank you. it’s that automated as they lead you to believe.
Not a big issue but a bit surprised.
