Looking for a solo 401k w/ Roth option + brokerage

Post by WEL »

Hi,

Vanguard offers Roth but not brokerage. Fidelity offers brokerage but not Roth. TD Ameritrade offers both but I have no dealings with them.

Are there any other places I should consider?

VG says they'll likely include brokerage in the future but word is they've been saying that for some time.

Thanks for any leads!!!!

I would go with etrade (I moved there from Fidelity for Roth).

A number of vanguard funds trade commission free. I think it might be slightly more flexible -- maybe you can convert previous employer contributions (but not employee contributions) to Roth within the plan, but I haven't tried it. Having Roth and allowing incoming rollovers from IRAs are the big ones, but I think TD Ameritrade allows both of those.

This was the best article I found on this when I looked around.

Not sure about what happens in the TDA Schwab acquisition.
