Welcome! This is not the right forum to ask about investing in individual companies.

Instead, this forum uses a long-term buy-and-hold approach to invest in the entire market with low-cost index funds. It's a time-proven technique that works well.

Here's how: Getting started

wow, buying individual companies is speculating (gambling). then gambling with gambling stocks? Wow, that's meta.

Yeah with no job and risks to keeping current jobs, no income, people will be able to gamble more this year, more new gamblers will be available with all the money going around. :(

On the other hand if everything gets better, and things are back to 100%, why would this year be any special for gambling stocks?

I would not gamble on gambling stocks, or buy any individual stock, because of lack of diversification.

Welcome to the forum anyway :)

There are still sports: Korean baseball, UFC, competitive video games.

If you want to talk stock picks, go to something like r/WallStreetBets. This is not a stock picking forum.

Also, it's unlikely you know anything more than we do about sports gambling firms that has not already been priced into the stocks. Is there a Google or Amazon in the sports betting or marijuana legalization world? Maybe... but good luck finding it.

The advice to visit /r/wallstreetbets seems to be coming from people who do not visit WSB. Let's review today's top threads.

1. Joke about Bezos getting aroused by brick and mortar stores getting looted.
2. Joke about Panda express fortune cookie recommending a 290 strike SPY put expiring today.
3. A post recommending puts because of a presidential tweet.
4. A joke linking Hertz to a famous Nine Inch Nails song that was covered by Johnny Cash.

If you think that's a serious single stock advice forum, good luck to you, friend.

Table tennis attracts $100K-plus in daily bets at William Hill

Japanese sumo wrestling. Nicaraguan soccer. Australian rules football.

Of all the obscure sports William Hill sportsbook has taken bets on during the coronavirus pandemic, Russian and Ukrainian table tennis have proved the most popular.

“Table tennis is the No. 1 draw by a country mile,” William Hill sportsbook director Nick Bogdanovich said.

PENN, that's where I threw a few dollars. My son mentioned it's association with Bar Stool Sports. Where all the youngsters gamble and chat. It has doubled since I got in. Awaiting casinos to get going again.

I am a big believer in PENN mainly because of barstool. I’m young so I’m deep into their content which is really impressive. Especially with the amount of interactions they get per post. It’s incredible. Very active community. Bought PENN at 5.57 lol

You should know about Seeking Alpha. If you dont, go there. It is much more friendly to stock picking. As said by the moderator, this is not the place for that. You are just going to continue to get this "gambling" nonsense.

Now, I personally dont know anything about the individual stocks you are talking about, but as you can see, you are going to get little help here. However, I would encourage you to stick around because there is a lot of good stuff here.

Such an inclusive group here. Can’t even entertain the idea of individual stocks. /sarcasm

What’s the 52-week high and low of the stock and where is it at now?

Do you think when sports return the stock will shoot up even more or has it had a run-up already.

If I invest in individual stocks I usually buy about $1000 worth of shares just to start. Just enough for my tastes (depending on share price of course)

An Ivy league study concluded that their is more inefficiencies in sports betting than their is in picking individual stocks. The only difference between the two is that one has a vig (fee) that must be overcome which results in a negative expected value, and the other has a positive expected value, although you are likely to underperform the market.

Someone else I know asked me about Draft Kings the other day. I was turned off from them years back when the word got out their employees were using data from their site to bet on other daily fantasy sites. I would much rather put my money in brick and mortar gambling. MGM. Caesar’s ect. Keep in mind doing the opposite of what I think(fading me)) tends to be profitable.

One of my buddies mentioned this stock the other night. Also, there was a market watch or similar article on it the other day. I'm taking that as any upside is priced in already. Everyone is aware of this one.

First thing that came to my mind was the cheating scandal previously mentioned. Although their cheating was basically picking under utilized players. Essentially the SCV of fantasy football. Clearly the play here is VBR.

Exactly. This very well could be a pump and dump situation (I think that’s a term).

I only heard Draft King’s stock mentioned recently too and was curious.

So this may actually help the OP

WSB is a bunch of smart people pretending to be stupid. Very entertaining. It also seems to be larger than this forum, but it's hard to tell.

Do you think you have information about sports gambling or DraftKings that the broader market hasn’t already priced in?

In fairness to OP other gambling stocks went further down and are up way more than the broader market. I think MGM was down 80% at one point.
