Anyone have issue with treasurydirect when modifying name on bank account?

I have a treasurydirect account but I notice for the name on bank account, rather than my name it has been account number under the name. It gives me the option to modify that. Just wondering if I modify that if it would lock me out. Because I read in the forums when adding new bank accounts it would lock you out until you mail a form in. Also, if I redeem the bond this way to the bank account would it work. Thanks
