Lump Sum into taxable account

Post by angler2184 » Wed Mar 25, 2020 2:46 pm

Hello,

I have had a lump some of money split into a CD and Money Market account for the last 5 years. I am looking to invest in a 3 fund etf portfolio. I dont plan on having to touch any of this money for at least 10+ years. I have a Roth with TD and thought i could just open a taxable account to invest this money. I am thinking DCA over the next year. Just want to see everyone thoughts. Thanks

Current Roth IRA
SPTM Total Stock Market
SPDW Developed World (Ex US)
SPYD S&P High Dividend
USRT REIT
SPAB Bond

Planned Taxable Account
SPTM
SPDW
SPAB

Most folks won't know all the tickers by heart - suggest stating the fund names themselves

Given the current market levels vs. a month or so ago, lump sum now is not unreasonable.

Not guaranteed to be correct, but then neither is any other strategy. See Does Market Timing Work? for one analysis.
