200,00 EURO to USD exchange question

Post by gold99xx » Thu Dec 26, 2019 9:06 am

Hello All, I need to transfer 200,000 Euro to USD ( bringing the cash back from Europe to the USA )

Does anyone have any experience/advice on getting the best exchange rate? Keeping cash in Europe is not an option.

Thank you

Happy Holidays

I've used Transferwise.com to send $$$ to Europe. Much more reasonable than banks.

This seems to be the party line these days. Look no further.

I use TransferWise to send both ways (EU to USA and USA to EU). Reasonable rates. Fairly quick transit time.

How about Moneygram? I always use moneygram as fees are typically lower than others. However, i haven't sent more than 10k.

IBKR is a good option for this as well assuming you don't mind setting up a brokerage account. IB has competitive not marked up forex rates with tiny commission. IB account has the ability to park cash in 20+ currencies if one wishes and a free wire is included monthly to any swift linked bank account around the world.
