Lost HSA account

Post by ltw2016 » Sun Dec 01, 2019 11:52 am

I had HSA account in 2011 with balance of 4k and was not using HDHP for few years and lost track of online access to the account.
It was with chase HSA at that time but but later I guess it merged into HSA Bank. called HSA Bank, they don't have any trace of my account transfer from chase. My Aetna website still shows I have balance and but the link it goes to PayFlex which does not have my money either. I am not sure where the money is

Any input in recovering access to this account ? I hope the money is still there!

PS: I am back into HDHP plan past two years with HealthEquity and in the process of transferring that cash to fidelity HSA to invest.

You could check the unclaimed funds website for your state. The money might be there.

Have you called Chase (to confirm whether balance was transferred) or Aetna (find out the source of their $)? Do either have online statements available?

The balance shown on the Aetna website, where do they get that amount from? That might be a clue. You would think that chase would be able to show the transactions for your account. Even if the money was transferred, they should have a record of it.

Good luck to you...

Seems like OP should contact Aetna on Monday.
