I opened an account for my wife and me last summer. I am trying to open a traditional IRA for each of us. I was finally able to get one open for me. Whenever I try to open a second one for my wife it fills in my name and I can never select her name. Any advise.

When I opened the account I put all the information in for both of us. Highly frustrating.

Wouldn’t she need to have her own online account? I believe it’s possible to grant some control over some accounts to other online accounts, but her accounts almost certainly need to be under her access, not yours.

I think the problem may be having is that you are starting by signing into your joint account. She should not sign in, but choose to establish a New Account.
