Ally Bank Transfers

Post by boater07 » Tue Oct 16, 2018 9:50 pm

I requested Schwab to cancel and transfer an Ally CD prior to maturity. Ally acknowledged within a day and closed the CD with EWP.
Now, 10 days later, still waiting for the funds. Sure seems there is more than EWP to be penalized.
I'll call Ally soon for their excuse/

Do you have a question or you are just sharing your experience? Is there a reason you didn't want to directly manage the CD yourself in your Ally account? I've had and still have a number of CDs with Ally. Redeeming CDs always had instant availability into savings or checking at Ally. Could transfer to my other bank with one day no fee transfers.

In all the years I've been with Ally I've never had an issue with transfers, and I ach transfer monthly. Just did a wire transfer on Monday and they even waived the wire transfer fee.

I don't understand: Are you saying that you bought an Ally CD through your Schwab account?
And put the request in through Schwab to cash out the CD?
And requested the proceeds be transferred to Schwab or somewhere else?
