Flexible Premium Deferred Annuities

Has anyone heard the concept of using a flex deferred annuity in a Bucket Strategy for Bucket 1 or 2? Not sure I am buying into this idea ?

Sounds like a new name for a VA.

The insurance industry has a history of renaming products after they develop a bad reputation.

I can make some guesses but I never tell my guesses.
We do have a "bucket" or "stream of Income" if deferred Income VA and FIA . 2008-2012 purchases.
Rev012718; 4 Incm stream buckets: SS+pension; dfr'd GLWB VA & FI anntys, by time & $$ laddered; Discretionary; Rentals. LTCi. Own, not asset. Tax TBT%. Early SS. FundRatio (FR) >1.1 67/70yo
