planning for 2018

Post by hardfork91 » Fri Dec 15, 2017 12:01 pm

what are some of your thoughts on Vanguard ETF asset allocation going forward, with a core set of vanguard ETFs? specific ETFs? I try to allocate to S&P500(75%), internatioal (15%), total bond (10%) into these, but curious on other ETFs and % you might adjust into for 2018...thanks

Someone on here posted Vanguard's outlook for the next decade. It suggested that a higher international allocation than 15% would be prudent.

Also, Goldman Sacks released their outlook for 2018. They suggest giving heavier weight to emerging markets.

So far, I'm going 20% International Developed and 10% Emerging. But I may even increase that.

FYI: Total International includes Emerging markets, unless you’re trying to up-boost your % allocation in emerging markets.
