Vanguard total us dividend for Sept?

The fund does not show a distribution for Sept. which seems unusual. Is this an error?

No, the distribution for Total US Stock Market is for today, so you will see it after close of business at 6PM tonight.

They are always posted to my account by the end of the month (quarter end). Have never seen them miss.

Why is it not listed under the fund distribution tab?

VTI is not paying a dividend today which is why it does not show up on the Distributions tab.

The dividend hasn't even been declared which is why it does not show up on the Distributions tab. The dividend will be declared later today and maybe by midnight 9/20/2017 will the vanguard.com web site get updated, but since they are low-cost provider, I suspect they will not get updated until 3 am tomorrow morning.

Even so, the dividend won't be paid until about September 26th or 27th or so.

One also should understand the differences between Declaration Date, Record Date, ex-Dividend Date, Payable Date, and Today's Date.

It is also helpful to understand the differences between VTI and VTSAX / VTSMX.

or train yourself not to care. There is no evidence that I have seen that VG has ever failed to pay a quarterly or even a monthly dividend that was the norm for the fund/ETF? Are there that many people who depend on the dividend being delivered on say, 9/20 vs. 9/21 .....?

Sometimes I do because I need the dividend in order to pay expenses such as college tuition, property taxes, and credit card bills which all have deadlines.

That's a mighty big dividend payment OR a very tiny bill.......

As of 5 pm EST, vanguard.com has not updated its web page to show the Declaration of the VTI dividend yet.

A Vanguard fund that normally makes income distributions quarterly but did not have one for some quarters is the Vanguard Inflation-Protected Securities Fund.
