IBDD has NOTHING to do with the US Treasury Series I Bonds that we frequently discuss: from http://www.ishares.com/us/products/2545 ... e-term-etf:

1. Exposure to investment grade corporate bonds that mature between April 2022 and March 2023

so this is a corporate bond etf with a pretty confusing name ("iBonds®").

this could be an appropriate addition to your portfolio (i personally don't hold any corporate/high yield/junk bonds) but make sure you understand what it is. it is *not* an apples-to-apples replacement for "real" i bonds.

And here I thought OP was asking about an ETF which invests in nothing but bonds issued by Apple Inc. :happy
