In a Roth or SEP IRA, tips fund or short-term inv grade

Post by Tony » Tue May 13, 2014 9:16 am

Hello,

Years ago, I contributed to Vanguard tips fund admiral (VAIPX) in my Roths and SEP IRA. Then, when I saw advice here a couple of years ago, I stopped investing in VAIPX - but did not sell - and used Vanguard Short Term Investment Grade VFSTX in both Roths and SEP IRAs.

Now I'm getting ready to invest in both my Roth and SEP IRA, but I have to admit, I haven't kept up with information enough to know if I should change from the VFSTX fund, go back to VAIPX - or should I be investing in something else?

My portfolio is 30/70, with very little tax-advantaged space. In my taxable account I have the Limited Term Tax-Exempt fund, along with Total Stock Market.

Any thoughts very welcome.

Thank you in advance.

PS I know I should study this in detail myself, but I don't have time right now. Thanks!
Tony
