There a great investment and I would dare to say mentioned daily on this site Just use search engine to find other post.I would use Ira or 401 first in most cases but besides that great for short term or mid term. As far as long term look at or compare to EE bonds
These are a great alternative to CDs of any length right now. The fed has an inflation target of 2% (I believe that was the last number I'm remembering for it). So with the tax deferral and ability to cash out after 1 year with only a 3mo penalty, these are hard to beat.
