Your allocation is not too aggressive if you have considered the risk/reward factor. Also, if you are in good health, delay taking Soc Security until you are older.

Several families were quoted as saying their farms had to be sold to pay the federal estate tax. These people were testifying brfore a Congressional committee looking into revising the statute. Not an urban legend giving testimony.

This has nothing to do with proprty tax or greed among heirs.

Scott Turow, in his book "Pleading Guilty", tells how one person set up his offshore bank account and transferred money. A very good read even if you do not want that type of asset protection.

For some, to insure an adequate sum for heirs, keep a fair amount of equity in your allocation. If leaving to heirs is not a concern, then select the appropriate target retirement fund.

Everyone has given you some good advice! However, each person has very different needs when it comes to estate planning. Not everything suggested to you will be right for you, so it is imperative that you consult with a lawyer who specializes in this area.

Mel, thanks for the info. Congress might like the tax breaks for the little people, but not a total repeal of the estate tax. The Ways and Means committee will suggest redrafting of the bill, maybe with a larger exemption. The Florida congressman has some work ahead with amendments.
