While I am not one of the experts, I think consensus goes like this, if you have a desire to have some "play money", use only 5% of your total portfolio, and when it is gone, its gone.

consensus says O2 sensor.

The engine trouble light could be burnt out, hence the reason it is not illuminating. By the way, you could have more than 1 O2 sensor.
Could also be the evap sensor

The only downside that I know about is that it would interfere if the poster also wants to do a back door contribution to Roth IRA. There are ways to work around that though. I think you've got it wrong. You would roll the after-tax contributions directly to Roth IRA. You would roll the earnings to tIRA. This would not be a taxable event.
