Can anyone give examples of the FDIC not paying off depositors within their deposit limits when a bank fails?

If so, I would stay away, otherwise I wouldn't worry about it...

My advice, do not put more money into this market. Don't liquidate what you have, but move new money to cash. This market IMO will continue downward for another year. This decline has nothing in common with what you've seen before.

Thanks guys. That certainly simplifies my financial picture. We can afford to allocate $500 a month to the wife to help her transition into retirement.
