You can still "max out" your Roth IRA using the backdoor method" at the same time you're salting away up to an additional $19,000 each year into the Roth side of your Solo 401k plan.

It's not just "either/or;" you can do "both" if the plan allows it, and the TR Price plan allows it.

Yes, my TIAA Trad does involve a 9 year and a day lockup. But with a 4% yield, I don't plan to sell it. My question revolves around any credit risk associated with Trad.

I'm not interested in taking on more risk with this money. Thank you.
