can i just open an account with Schwab or fidelity to access DFA funds, or is the advisor always necessary,

i don't really want to have an advisor managing my portfolio, i just want them to look at it and tell me what to do from time to time

are you saying you want to increase your stock holdings from 29% to 40% ? 23?% is 1 year emergency fund, you don't seem to need 1 year if you seem to have such reliable income, if you ask me. overall, you seem to be well set ; your going to have some kind of annuity as inheritance that pays $5000/year

there is no efficient frontier at any risk level, that isn't mostly cash

well Wbern's book data was pre-2008 8-10 years ago; perhaps one can still use his stock earnings rate future despite 2011 conditions. guess i'll use a 10 year yield for 2011 : 3.07% ? however using: 6%(wbern's rate)?/3%/0-1% for stock/bond/cash most tolerances for risk come out very cash heavy ... e...
