I just paid next year's property taxes last week, but contacted both my lender (Penfed) and the county prior to doing this. It was worth the two phone calls that I made to be sure the payment would be applied correctly. My goal is similar to yours, which is to maximize deductions for 2015. Go for it.

I was in Vancouver and Victoria a couple of weeks ago. I agree that BC is a fabulous vacation spot, particularly given the exchange rate, as you mentioned. I recommend that you add Victoria to your itinerary for your next BC visit and suggest that you visit the Royal BC Museum.
