Re: Where to park cash in Fidelity?

To the original topic, a couple funds to consider.

FIPDX - tips
FUMBX - short term treasuries
FUAMX - intermediate treasuries

all would be state tax exempt.

Re: Value + Growth != Blend

Even using Vanguard funds it seems that Value+Growth > Blend. Large Cap = https://www.portfoliovisualizer.com/backtest-portfolio?s=y&timePeriod=4&startYear=1985&firstMonth=1&endYear=2020&lastMonth=12&calendarAligned=true&includeYTD=false&initialAmount=10000&annual...

Re: A bond rule of thumb better than "age in bonds"

A 60/40 portfolio has outperformed 100% stock over the last 20 years. So I'm not sure it makes sense to tell all <40 year olds they shouldn't hold any bonds.

Perhaps I should have bought more!
Maybe. It's purely speculative. Who knows if this thing comes back twice as bad as before.

Re: Total market or S&P 500?

A scenario when TSM benefits is when they announce a company will be added to the S&P 500. Typically that stock jumps quite a bit. TSM will benefit. S&P will not. At least that's the theory I've read.

Re: Why doesn’t BRK just buy SP500 index fund?

Buffett has publicly stated why buy the S&P 500 when it's full of losers. Many are overpriced. Many aren't growing. Many are leveraged. Just focus on buying the 10-20 real winners.

Re: Is Disney the most tempting value stock?

I built a calculator using Python code to evaluate stocks and for me, Disney would be at a fair price around $82. So it's got a long way to go before I'd consider it a Value.

Re: bond funds in taxable?

Intermediate Treasury funds and Total Bond typically have very similar returns, so wouldn't Intermediate Treasury make more sense in Taxable given it's exempt from State taxes?

Some info here you might want to read

I just switched from T Rowe Price (alaska) to Fidelity (new hampshire). The expenses are way lower and better investment choices.

Re: Rebalancing...now?

I too could use some advice on if I should rebalance now. My US equity has been pretty much all S&P500 (FXAIX). I've decided I want to better mimic the TSM and do a 70% large (FXAIX), 20% mid (FSMDX), 10% small (FSSNX) allocation. I'm thinking there's a good chance small businesses will continue...

Re: Why does anyone invest in international funds?

I took some of the most common data here https://www.portfoliovisualizer.com/historical-asset-class-returns And then calculated the median, mean, and Std.Dev. Then calculated the mean and median over Std.Dev. to get an idea of return / risk. Sorted by Median/Std.Dev. Name Median Mean Std. Dev. Media...
