Investing money for the next 6 years

Any recommendations for a good vanguard fund to invest money that I will need within 6 years from now? I can't afford to lose more than 30% of my money. This is for a taxable account. Thanks.

I want to open a brokerage account on my name. I think that any accounts on their names will effect their chances of getting students aid packages.

Saving and investing for kids

Is it a good idea to invest kids money in a balanced fund ? I'm thinking about vbiax vanguard balanced fund or one of the life strategies funds. I'm talking about a brokerage account.

Re: Suggestions

I’m maximizing my Roth IRA investment fund every year. My pension is not well funded. They keep telling that my pension will be out of funds by 2025. I need to work 30 years to qualify for a full pension. I have 12 years. I have an emergency fund.

Re: Two funds for life

I learned a lot from all your suggestions. I was thinking to implement Paul Merriman’s two funds for life in my Roth IRA. I decided to stick with the target date fund. Thanks for all of your feedback.

Roth IRA question

I invested my Roth IRA in vanguard target date fund 2045.I'm 39 years old. I'm thinking to implement paul merriman two funds for life by adding 10 to 20% of small cap to my TDF and leave it without a rebalance. Any suggestions? Thanks.
