Re: Lets talk about some favorite index funds?

It is my GREAT honor to be the first one in this thread to say it: Vanguard Total World Stock Index Fund. The most Boglehead fund in existence. Enjoy my friends :sharebeer

I'm really cynical of this because of his strongly-held personal beliefs and his own refusal to believe other emperical research that runs counter to his beliefs.
And bully anyone who disagrees with him.

Re: Another should i buy my dream porsche thread...

Interesting thing about the US is that we are all bound by the same speed limits. That 100k Porsche is going to be as fast as a 20 yr old Corrola when they are both doing 65 on the highway.

So you picked some of the top performing stocks over the last several years and they outperform the market average over the last several years? Color me shocked. :P

Re: Total World expense ratio lowered

To update this old thread, the annual report for total world came to my inbox a couple of days ago. The actual operating expenses, given in a footnote, for the fiscal year, which is end of Oct, were 19 bp for the investor shares. In the past this has foreshadowed an announcement in the following Fe...

Re: Looking to take out Roth IRA money for house down payment.

You'd pretty much have to kill me to get me to take money out of my roth account. I was in a similar situation and was willing to give up my dream property before taking ANY money out of my roth.

Re: Internet speeds

Very high speed internet is extremely over hyped and unneeded product for the normal person. +1. People generally think they need way higher speeds than they do. I recall at one point the cable company trying to convince my older parents they needed the gaming-tier internet service (lol) which was ...

Re: Looking for a post about stock crash

I remember, too. None of the schadenfreude of the Bitcoin situation (which I am also guilty of, though I didn't post about it). Very real and sobering realities in that linked thread. I think it was some potential component supplier to Apple that lost its contract when Apple changed strategy abrupt...

Looking for a post about stock crash

I am looking for a post from a while back (months?) that had a link to a thread from another forum that showed the live discussion of some stock that had essentially crashed overnight. This thread was from years back. Reading it was very tragic, people lost their life savings or decades of work. I s...
