no rule breaking, just confused.
if your risk tolerance is low, then s&p is the opposite of that.
you need an emergency fund first.
no reason you cant do both.
are you maxing out everything else already?

you need to stop contributing to the solo 401k now and undo it.
then you need to calculate the employer contribution (as stated 20%).

With no company match, I would start a Roth IRA. Pay taxes now while you are young and your salary is low. As your income increases, consider switching to Traditional. Nope sounds like the right thing to do.
Like others said, max out 401k and IRA, no reason NOT to save a little for yourself (fancy dinner, 1 day vacay iono whatever), then throw the rest at loans.
