I let the market adjust my asset allocation.
The last 8 years my asset allocation has gradually tilted more towards equity side,

The next extended bear market will adjust that for me,,,,

It is practically impossible to predict managed fund capital gains from year to year.
If minimizing tax bite is your goal look into Total Market Index Fund.

Debt free when we did.
We are spending more now because we "want to",
Only reason being is travel in an Rv we bought.
Our AGI on our tax return keeps climbing every year.
Pension ,SS, Dividends ,Cap Gains.

Retired 7 years.
No "need" to spend principal as of yet.
Combined sources of money have allowed that to be the case,
Portfolio value is quite higher now than when we retired.
