If the employer genuinely made an error, the honorable thing to do is pay the money back; that's a big 'if', though, as I would not take their word on it. At the very least, I'd want to see their math and confirm that you hadn't vested as they claim.

It's QLC with only a 3-year warranty, but at $200 the price to performance ratio is amazing. It's only $10 more than their lower level drive, with faster max speeds and longer durability.
