Keep in mind for every person complaining about these ridiculous interest rates, there is an investor willing to offset to obvious risk.... So limit the % and you limit the loan for those that are high risk. So you cut them off, some probably a good thing, some not so much... The "buy here pay here"...

Actually there are a lot of people with the belief that owning a home is somehow a magical investment, and renting is "throwing money away"... See it all the time.

When I did wore one, I only took it off when doing something that would damage it or me if I was wearing it.. Manual labor, machinery, etc.

It actually got smashed a bit once, and now I don't wear it every. (Wife doesn't care)

Stocks and bonds can crash at the same time. My opinion is that holding some cash is prudent. It diversifies risk and can be used to rebalance, especially if stocks and bonds tank together. It can also sit there for 10 years with inflation erosion. I don’t see the point of cash in the 401k at all...

I've never lost anything, I typically put in an amount that I know I will spend and am done with it by mid year. Typically a couple big dentist of vision items wipe it out.

I think you should leave well enough alone. There's nothing wrong with 40/60 like yours. Aiming for $125k annually you are in very good shape. I also complicated the matter by doing an in kind transfer from the brokerage my employer used for everyone, Fidelity, to Vanguard. Can’t you just check the transaction history when they were put into your brokerage account? This should also show the commissions if any, paid... I track these in a separate spreadsheet.
