In the past they have thrown extra money is as some sort of profit sharing. I believe that they stopped that, but it was always and extra 5-10% when it was done..

Have 8,500 in the gun safe right now. It fluctuates between that and 10,000. 2,200 in hundreds and the rest in 20's, 10's, 5's and 1's. Also about 2,000 face value in per 1964 silver coins. Just as a counter point. The BofA ATM's around here run out of cash every Friday thru about Mid Saturday. I assume that this is because of the reduced bank hours, and the desire to have cash for the weekend. I don't go to an ATM to withdraw often, but the line is noticeable on every weekend.

I have the vacation myself, but I can’t imagine having enough time for 5-7 week long vacations every year with the kids..

Travel can be considerably cheaper if you take the long view, collect points,etc.

I don't use it, but wouldn't hesitate to have my wife use it if I fell over dead. They can be of help transfering accounts, getting things setup, etc. After a while and once you have hit a fixed asset allocation, there just isn't much to do.

Even Dollar bills are easy, and of course you could make it $2/year or whatever you want.

Something is faulty with the unit or you don’t have enough Freon in it. If it is sized right it is unlikely you damaged anything, or that it would freeze under normal operation.

I own exactly 1 share for the Gieco discount. It is scary how close it tends to match the S&P over time... It is off some days, but over time it is close. My AA does not include un-vested shares, future or current income streams. It is simply what I have invested.

Hard to say without knowing your other investments, and your desired AA. All the above suggestions are good ones.


Personally I just dump our Roth contributions into US Total Stock Market, and use my 401k to round out the bonds and international. It works because of the balance disparity.

Actually when I got one of these I made a phone call to them. Less than a 1hr phone call, the whole issue was closed out, forms were amended, etc. It all went way better than expected. I only called to gather more information on the issue.
