Re: Need Info/Experience With Opening Capital 360 Account

I don't have much experience with banks/credit unions. I'm interested in opening a Capital One 360 account, but I'm confused about some of the things I've read on their website. They mention doing a test deposit when linking to an external account, does this HAVE to be a checking account? Or can th...

capital one 360 online accounts uses allpoint ATM's also. In addition, you can make check/cash deposits thru their regular Capital one bank ATM's. The only drawbacks is that 360 account members CANNOT make account inquiries inside a Capital One bank. They must do it online, mail, or phone. Also chec...

Gotta hi jack this thread a tiny bit if you don't mind bit :beer

Myself and the OP maxed out our ROTHS for the year 2015.

Will 01/01/2016 be the first date we can start making contributions for 2016? Or is the date determined by Vanguard?

Max out ROTH IRA and 457B plan and save for house at same time?

As the title says^, has anyone had success doing this?

Whats the least amount I should be making (gross pay)?

I currently make 60k (not including OT).

I currently have about $11,000 saved in emergency fund.

Looking to save about $50,000-$65,000 over the next 5 years.

So, again, how much do you plan to save for retirement - assuming you can contribute $18k to the 457 and $5.5k to Roth IRA next year. How much total - after that, we can talk about where it should go. I would like to have at least 500k or more if possible. This may not change your mind, but the ord...

Re: Invest in 457 ROTH or Vanguard Roth IRA

If you are investing no more than $5,500 a year (the limit for the Roth IRA), it makes little sense to even use the 457b. Yes, the expense ratio for the equity fund is less, but there is an $80 per year fee on top of that. So how much do you plan to save for retirement each year? Good morning :!: I...

Re: Starting a retirment account. High expense 457 vs. Roth IRA

Since there is no match associated with the 457b and since the choices are poor, you should put the first $5,500 you save into Roth IRA. Anything you save for retirement over that $5,500 could go into the 457b and those contributions will be subtracted from your taxable income. Seems we have simila...

Good Evening all. Long time spectator, first actual post. :beer

didn't want to start a new thread so I figured I post here.

I opened Vanguard ROTH IRA account on 06/01/2015. Does this count toward 2015 contributions or 2016? I'm assuming its 2015 since 04/15/15 was the deadline for 2014.
