ADT monthly rates are almost criminal, along with the proprietary equipment they use. I use Smith-Thompson, a local Texas company with rates and cell connectivity similar to SimpliSafe. No one should pay more than that for home alarm monitoring service.

Respectfully, that's not true at all. I have more than a few tax clients who pay AMT with the SD because they have many personal exemptions. It's not the most common reason for AMT, but it's also not rare.

Be careful assuming that property taxes are a tax deduction. May not be true if you pay AMT or if your itemized deductions are phased out. Many of my tax clients fall into that category. A house is a lifestyle choice, not a tax dodge.

I'm always thankful that during our primary working years, my wife insisted that we max out 401K and IRA contributions, her spousal IRA included. It's not like we kept a ledger or monitored what would have happened if we had not, but I'm sure we ended up better off.

It has a setting, called "continuous", that allows you to continue printing past the "replace toner" message. so you can literally print until the page comes out blank. saves a ton on printer cartridges
