I've done ours for years with Turbotax. It's a few hours work and it's so easy to download all the information from Vanguard. I still have to type in all the CD interest, etc. I've never understood why people with uncomplicated taxes pay a CPA to do theirs.

I don't know. I started my return online with Turbotax a few weeks ago but I still don't have all the information I need to file so I haven't finished. Today I had an email from them saying I should file before February 28 in order to save $30 so I assume the price is going up.

I had the same thing happen at our house. An electrician spent a couple of hours researching every outlet. The culprit was an outdoor porch light that had a short in it. Money well spent to have lights stay on again and no more tripped breaker.

Thanks for the information. I just watched a video on Vanguard on how to buy cd's. I want to make sure that I keep my settlement account in my IRA. Is there a separate IRA settlement account? I don't currently have a brokerage account; I've avoided having one.

Kevin, I don't mean to highjack this subject, but could you tell me how to purchase a new cd from Vanguard? I have IRA funds in the Vanguard Total Bond Fund that I would like to buy a couple of cd's with. I have never bought a cd from Vanguard. Thanks for your help.

We have one and use it frequently. There are just 2 of us so I usually divide the portions of meat I buy at Costco. I sometimes buy the "out of date" prime steaks at the grocery store and freeze them as soon as I get home.

I'm working my way through Louise Penny's mystery novels featuring Chief Inspector Armand Gamache. The crimes take place in and around a little village called Three Pines in Quebec. I thoroughly enjoy a good suspense or mystery book and these are very readable.
